Transition Tips to Natural Deodorant

First of all - don't sweat it - this is totally normal! 💧💧

If you’ve been doing your research on natural deodorants, you may have come across people mentioning a "detox or transition period’. This is an initial period of excess sweating and increased odor that can occur when your body adjusts from years of antiperspirant use to a natural deodorant.

Some customers may find that they sweat, and perhaps smell, a little more than they are used to for up to 3 weeks until things settle down as your body gets used to functioning again without aluminum salts and chemical residues, blocking your underarm sweat glands. Essentially, your body goes into overdrive by sweating more. Don't fret about the sweat, as this won’t last for long and will slow down quickly. Many people who have fully transitioned to natural deodorant find they even sweat less than they did when they used antiperspirant! Our best advice is to stick with it, and this will pass!

We've got some Transition Tips to make this easier:

1. Wash and apply to clean pits-You want to start with fresh clean pits so there is no linger odor already. Our deos are designed to neutralize odor before it starts!

2. Exfoliate your pits- Gently scrub away with a loofah or salt/sugar scrub, the dead skin cells and chemical residues left behind from antiperspirants that can help create a new foundation for your new deo!

3. Sweat it out with exercise and saunas can help your glands function properly again.

4.Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water

5.Clothing matters - Natural fibers like cotton, bamboo and hemp will wick away perspiration from your body but synthetic fibers like acetate and polyester trap sweat and give the bacteria a warm place to live and grow.

6. Don't go back!  Going back to traditional antiperspirants laden with chemicals and fragrance will set you back so stay the course! It should be just a few weeks and You can do it!
